Blackberry phones, like any other phones, may start having issues after using them for a while. When your bb Torch 9860 stops working properly and you need to use it urgently, then it becomes necessary to hard reset the phone.
Hard resetting is mean erasing all information and data from a mobile device.
As a result, you could lose your necessary data. It is hence necessary that you back up any important data in your laptop, cloud backup, or google drive before hard resetting your BlackBerry Torch 9860.
If you can remove the battery in your Torch 9860 do it first. Some user says after that phone works well again.
Open the battery cover of your smartphone and remove its battery.
Press and hold the Power key for no more than ten seconds.
Put the battery back, close the cover and turn the phone back on.
