You can reset the factory setting of your Apple Watch Ultra by using different methods. The easy one is resetting from your pairing iPhone.
Factory reset your Apple Watch Ultra using your paired iPhone
- Apple Watch Ultra needs to be near the iPhone and pair with
- Find the Watch Ultra app on your iPhone open it and find and choose the Watch Ultra you need to reset
- Press General > Reset.
- Press Erase Apple Watch Ultra Content and Settings, then confirm your choice
- You need to enter your Apple ID password.
If your Apple Watch Ultra with GPS + Cellular you need to decide to keep or remove your cellular plan:
- If you want to pair your Apple Watch Ultra and iPhone again, keep your plan.
- If you want to sell it or will not use remove your plan and cancel your subscription with your operator.
The second method is to hard reset your Watch Ultra without pairing it with the iPhone.
If you can’t pair your Apple Watch Ultra with your iPhone or forgot your passcode you can reset it by using a combination of buttons on your device.
- Your Apple Watch Ultra needs to be charged.
- Press and hold the side button
- If you see the Power Off screen release the side button
- Press the Power button and hold
- You should see Erase all content and settings.
If you reset your Apple Watch Ultra without pairing — you will have Activation Lock. To remove the Activation Lock, unpaired the Watch Ultra.
How to restart your Apple Watch Ultra
Press and hold the side button until you see the Power Off slider.
Drag the Power Off slider.
After your Watch turns off, press and hold the side button again until you see the Apple logo.
Force restart your Apple Watch Ultra
If your Apple Watch Ultra freeze and is unresponsive you need to force restart it.
Press and hold both the side button and Digital Crown for at least 10 seconds or until you see the logo.
