If you own an LG Optimus handset, it is important for you to know the procedures on how to reset it.
There are two types of Hard reset that can be done on this device.
The first is the software reset
Second is the hardware reset functions.
The software reset is done when the phone is not working well. All your data and your device settings are safe because they are not lost in the process. Hardware reset (hard reset) refers to a type of reset that is done when one wants to clear all the data and settings in the device and wants to return the device settings to the factory default settings.
This type of reset (hard reset) is only done as the last resort after all the troubleshooting procedures have been exhausted. The handset should also be turned off and in case it is frozen, the battery should be removed and reinserted. You must be one hundred percent sure that you want to do a hard reset on your devices. This is because, all the personal data such as SMSs, call records, all contacts, internet settings as well as all the media files(photos, videos, documents among others) will be deleted when the reset is performed.
Below are the prerequisites that should be done prior to the reset exercise;
Make sure that all your data is backed up before the procedure.
This involves making sure that you save all your SMS, contacts information, call records, internet settings, photos, videos, documents among all other important documents.
After that, the following procedure should be followed;
How to do hard reset LG Optimus?
- Press and hold the power button of your LG Optimus until it is off.
- Push & hold both the Home and the Down button at the same time (the location of the Home button is at the front of the device immediately below the LG display and the Down button is on the right side of the LG device).
- The next step is to press and to keep holding the power button for a period of 10 seconds at the same time holding the Home and the down volume buttons i.e. (Power key+ Home key+ Down volume key)
- After pressing and holding all three buttons at the same time for ten seconds, the buttons are then released when the device turns on. Following the above steps will successfully enable you to hard reset the LG Optimus.
It is important to note that, if the original condition of the device is not restored, the hard reset should be used to initialize the phone. Precaution should be taken when the Unlock pattern is being used. It is advisable that you memorize the pattern well because you are only allowed five attempts to enter it. If all five attempts have been used, you then have to wait for at least 30 seconds before attempting to unlock it again.
