If you have problems with your Motorola DEFY and you want to repair it yourself first you must try — a factory reset. Also, we recommend doing a factory reset if you want to sell your Moto DEFY.
The most important thing you should know is the reset process will delete all your personal info:
- Google account
- Media (music, photos, videos)
- System settings and data
- App settings and data (including text messages)
- Downloaded apps
So after the reset, you will need to do the initial setup as the first time. So make back up before if you have access to the menu. But we recommend using the Sync function and you can restore all your data with a few clicks after the reset.
If you don’t know your email and password you need to see them in your Profile else you will need another device with an internet connection to recover your password if you forgot it.
How to restart your Moto DEFY?
You can restart your phone in 2ways: with the menu and buttons.
If your Moto DEFY freezes or is unresponsible you need to try to restart your phone by the combination of these buttons: press the Power button for 10 seconds or until your phone vibrates and restart. Your phone may freeze on the same app very often so we recommend reinstalling it and updating to the new version.
To restart from the menu you need to press the Power button and choose the restart icon. We recommend doing it if you have problems like fast battery drain or something like it. (the function works but slowly, bad signal, etc.)
