Hard Master Reset

Hard Reset Intermec CN3 — Warm, Cold, or Clean boot.

Sometimes you may install a new program on your Intermec CN3 and then notice that you cannot see the start menu or run any programs. To solve this problem, perform a hard reset of your device. This brings the device to its original, default configuration.

How do you do it? It is very simple.

  • Remove the battery.
  • Press the reset switch.
  • Insert battery back.
  • The device will boot.
  • Immediately press and hold the yellow I/O button until a dialog box appears.
    • Press one of the blue side buttons on the right to clean and boot the device. — OR –
    • Press one of the blue side buttons on the left side to cancel the clean boot.

CK3 — Warm Boot Your Device

Press and hold the POWER button (yellow button) until the screen goes blank. The RAM is clear and no settings or applications are lost.

CK3 — Cold Boot Your Device

If the preferred reset method does not restore the CK3, you must remove the battery. There is a small black round button at the top of the battery compartment of the unit. Press and hold that button for about 3 seconds, and then re-insert the battery; do not touch any key. The unit will turn itself on and will reset. No settings, no files, or applications are lost.

CK3 — Clean Boot without the CK3 Automated CleanBootPatch.cab

To clean boot the CK3, you must remove the battery. There is a small black round button at the top of the battery compartment of the unit. Press and hold that button for about one second and then re-insert the battery. As soon as you insert the battery, press and hold the POWER button (yellow button) until the screen asks you if you want to clean boot. Press the button indicated on-screen to clean boot (the scanner button or the trigger on the scan handle will accept the clean boot). RAM is now clear; all settings are removed and all applications are removed if they not part of the SSPB folder.

CK3 — Clean Boot with the CK3 Automated CleanBootPatch.cab

Note: A unit that has the patch installed will have a boot loader of 3.45.26.0041a. Warm boot the unit to see the boot loader version.

As soon as you insert the battery, press and hold the POWER (yellow key) and the PTT button (to the right of the scan button) until the screen asks you if you want to clean the boot. Press the button indicated on-screen to clean the boot (the scanner button or the trigger on the scan handle will accept the clean boot).
