Pin option was created to secure your device. But if long times do not use it it will be forgotten. Usually, a pin code is used to lock all devices but in Nintendo Switch the PIN number is required to adjust or change settings or factory reset in the future. So what to do if you forgot your pin? Of course, you need to reset the pin.
There are 2ways to set the pin so there are 2 ways to reset the pin.
Parental controls can be set on the Nintendo Switch console or in the Nintendo Switch Parental Controls app for smart devices.
If you have a few devices Nintendo — and you create a master pin for all devices you need to reset a master key. To reset Master Key you need to visit a special page.
If you know your pin and you want to change it:
- Go to “System Settings” on the HOME Menu.
- Slide down and select “Parental Controls”, then select “Parental Controls Settings”.
- If you don’t see this option, it means that your system is currently linked to the Nintendo Switch Parental Controls app, and the PIN must be changed there. (If you don’t have access to the app, and/or you want to unlink the app from your system, click here.)
- Enter the Parental Controls PIN number for the system.
- Select “Change PIN”.
- Enter a new 4-8 digit PIN number for the system, then select “OK”.
- Enter the PIN number again to confirm.
