Xiaomi Roborock error list and solution for it.

The Xiaomi Roborock is a high-end robotic vacuum cleaner that offers excellent features and performance. With many features and benefits, the Xiaomi Roborock is an excellent choice for anyone looking for a high-quality robotic vacuum cleaner.

But with all electronics after a few years of good experience, you can get some errors. With some errors, the device will be working as usual but with some will stop working correctly.

To solve some errors you will need to reset Xiaomi Roborock but for some, you will need to repair or replace the broken parts.

These errors are similar to all Roborock models. (Roborock Q7 Max, Roborock Q7, Roborock Q5, Roborock S7 MaxV, Roborock S7, Roborock S6 MaxV, Roborock S6 Pure, Roborock S6, Roborock S5 Max, Roborock S4 Max, Roborock S5, Roborock S4, Roborock E5, Roborock E4, Roborock E3, Roborock E2, Roborock C1, Roborock H6, Roborock H7, Roborock Auto-Empty Dock Pure, Roborock Auto-Empty Dock, Roborock Empty Wash Fill Dock, Roborock Dyad)

To know what is the error you need to hear a voice alert. For example, if the problems with the filter you will hear something like this. “Error 10 please check the filter it is not dry”

Error 1: Laser Distance Sensor is not working.

LDS is an orange rangefinder on the top of the cleaner.

If you hear Error 1 and your Roborock is not moving then you need to check the LDS. Try to spin it by hand, it must turn freely. Remove any items blocking the laser unit, wipe the sensors, then restart the robot. Also, you should know that LDS rotation with a little belt, and the belt may be torn if the LDS has no rotation. But to see the belt you need to take it apart.

Error 2: Collision sensor in the Bumper

In front, the bumper robot has a sensor to prevent accidents at full speed. If the bumper torch the wall or other stuff it will stop moving in this way and turn around to find another way to go without stuff. 

Clean and lightly tap the bumper it should have a small stroke.

Turn the robot over and look under the bumper to see if anything is stuck there. If the bumper moves easily back and forth, try moving it to another place without stuff and run it again. If it does get stuck, try to get stuff out and restart the robot.

Error 3: One of the wheels is suspended

If you hear error 3 then you should check the wheels. And most likely you will find that they can’t move anything. Try spinning them slightly to see which one is stuck. They can get a string or hair wrapped around them and that can cause an error. Try to clean up it.

Error 4 Elevation sensor error

Some Roborock models have fall sensors to prevent falls from heights, e.g. from stairs. It may have an error if the sensor is dirty or be on a high pile carpet. The problem can still arise if there is a height difference.

Error 5 The main brush gets tangled

Basically, long hair or thread is wrapped around the brush. To solve this error you need to clean up the main brush.

Error 6: The side brush gets tangled

You need to clean up it and restart the robot.

Error 7: Main wheels may have jammed

Foreign objects may be wrapped around the wheels and this may cause this error. If you don’t see anything on the wheels then try spinning them. They should spin with a little effort. Spin them both to compare. They may be winding hairs or threads on them. If there’s no way to clean them, you’ll have to take them apart or replace them.

Error 8: Roborock is stuck or blocked

The vacuum cleaner can get stuck between furniture or stuff. It can run into something flat and if the wheels are in the air there will also be this error.

To solve this error please provide enough space and replace the robot in another place. If you have a few places where the robot is stuck you can use the app and limit this area to clean up.

Error 9: Dust collector and filter not detected

You need to install dust and filters correctly. If the error repeats, check for damage to the container or filter. If there is a crack or a cut on the filter it must be replaced.

Error 10: Filter is not dry

With this error, the robot will work only on 50% of the power.

If you hear this error you need to check your filter for big foreign items. After cleaning and rinsing, the filter should dry for 24 hours. 

If the problem persists even after replacing it with a new filter, you will need to disassemble your vacuum cleaner and clean 2 more meshes before and after the motor.

This often happens if you have been using the same filter for a long time and it starts leaking debris.

Error 11: High magnetic field detected

Just turn off the mechanism that generates the magnetic field.

Error 12: Battery low

You need to charge the device. This error usually occurs if the cleaning area is too large and the battery is low, the cleaner will return to the station to recharge and continue cleaning later.

Error 13: Charging error

100% of the problems with charging contact between cleaner and doc station. You need to clean the contact on the robot by using a dry or wet cloth.

The problem is caused by the side brush as it rotates and touches one of the contacts and contaminates it. Also, inspect the doc station for foreign items on it.

Error 14: Battery error

This error will apply when the battery temperature is too high or low.

Normal temperature 0-40C  

0C and below low

40C+ high

 You need to turn on the air conditioner or heat your home. If the problem repeats at the normal temperature you need to replace the battery.

Error 15: Dirty wall sensor

You need to carefully clean it with a dry or wet cloth.

Error 16: The device is tilted

The device will give this error on an uneven surface. It often happens with height drops. If you use the Mi home app you can cut any problem area on the map and the robot will bypass them.

Error 17: Side brush error

If you get 17 errors you need to reset your device.

If the problem is not resolved you will need to replace the brash mechanism.

Error 18: Fan error

You can only reset the device to the default settings. If the problems are not resolved you can apart the fun and check if there all cables connect correctly, else replace the fan.

Error 19 Docking station connection error

Indicates that the device cannot access power after being connected to the charging dock, please check:

• The charging power cable at both ends (dock and socket) has been inserted tightly;
• Please clean the contacts of the docking station;
• Check the power cable for damage, if the cable is damaged, please replace it.

Error 21 Rangefinder sensor error

Malfunction of the laser rangefinder movement, remove foreign objects.

Error 22: Charge Contact is dirty

Clean the charge contacts on the doc station. Remove all items from it.

Error 23: The charging dock is jammed

Please remove all unnecessary items from the doc station. I have this problem when the cable from the doc station was moved by the robot and when it comes back to the doc get this error.

Error 24: Virtual bypass zone detected

The robot may have this error if you have set the bypass zone and it goes to it. You can install it on Mi Home App. To resolve it just replace the cleaner with another place and start it again.

Error 28: Roborock is on the carpet

Error 28 means that Roborock is on a high pile carpet. Move it to a new location (not on the carpet) and start again.
