Hard reset intermec 70

Hard reset Intermec 70 series ( CK70, CK71, CN70, CN70e)

Steps to Hard Reset the Intermec 70 series (CK70, CK71, CN70, CN70e)

If after pressing the power button the computer still refuses to resume, or an application locks up the computer, you need to reset your device. This is important because when the computer is booting, it makes use of the configuration currently saved in the flash memory.

Hard resetting is one of the ways to reset the computer. Hard resetting is used when the computer stops responding completely. However, it may result in data loss and should only be considered if all other recovery methods have failed. There is also no guarantee that the cached disk data will be automatically saved.

The Four Ways to Do a Hard Reset

Manual Clean Boot

  • Press and hold the POWER button and choose Suspend.
  • Remove the battery pack from the back of the computer.
  • With a stylus, press the RESET button located on the left side of the battery compartment.
  • Reinsert the battery and immediately press and hold the POWER button and VOLUME DOWN button (right side lower button).
  • Continue to hold the POWER button and the VOLUME DOWN button, and then follow the instructions on the screen. You will be prompted to “Release Buttons”
  • Press the VOLUME UP button on the right side to accept the clean boot.
  • Wait for the computer to load the files.

Smart System Console:

Right-click the 70 Series computer and then select Intermec Power Tools > Clean Boot Device.

Barcode Reset

You can initiate a Clean boot on a 70 series device by scanning the 2D barcode.

Greenlight Reboot

When the unit is stuck on the green light, it will not boot up.

  • Put the unit on an external power without the battery.
  • With a stylus, press the RESET button located on the left side of the battery cavity (the bigger button).
  • Immediately press and hold the POWER button and VOLUME DOWN button (right side lower button).
  • Continue to hold the POWER button and the VOLUME DOWN button, and then follow instruction on the screen. You will be prompted to release them.
